We recommend starting out with 15 – 25 minutes a day, and then increasing your exposure when you feel more comfortable. However, you should always listen to your body- how do you feel after a meditation session with a particular track? Calm, relaxed, and energized? Or tense, irritable, or sluggish? Everyone is unique, and while we know which binaural frequencies are best for most people, you may have a different experience. This is one of the reasons why we include so many different tracks with our package- instead of forcing you along a predetermined path, we help you to find your own way.

M3 can used any time. However, it should not be used when you are driving, operating heavy machinery or any activity that requires your immediate concentration. Basically, anything you wouldn’t try to do while meditating you shouldn’t try to do while listening to M3. It’s in the name- Master Meditation Music is a meditation aid. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also, it is important to realize that M3 will effect your sleep if you listen to it too close to bedtime. (How close is too close? This varies from person to person. Generally, we recommend at least 4 hours between last session and bedtime, but again, this is just a general guideline). This can be a positive or a negative depending on your unique situation and what track you listen to. For example, some users report that their most restful and deepest sleep comes when they listen to 0.5 to 4 Hz music within 30 minutes of bedtime (or fall asleep listening to it). However, tracks that end with a higher frequency (>7 Hz or above) make it difficult for some users to get to sleep in the first place.

You can listen to M3 anywhere you wish to meditate, be it a quiet mountain meadow, a beach, a busy airport or a loud, chaotic office. Wherever you are, M3 can help you to be calm and quiet your mind.

However, you should never listen to M3 while driving, operating heavy machinery or doing anything else that requires alert focus.

While there is no known risk from listening to binaural music, we do not recommend M3 for those prone to seizures or people with pacemakers. Also, we generally recommend you do not exceed 15-25 minutes a day to start (see How Much to Use?).

Finally, the effect caused by binaural music requires the use of headphones or earbuds so that a slightly different sound can be heard by either ear. Unfortunately, if you are deaf in one ear or otherwise have severely limited hearing on one side, binaural music will not work for you.

Short answer: yes, but it won’t be as effective.

Long answer: the way binaural beats work (full details in the How It Works section above) is that the frequency played in the right ear is different from the frequency played in the left ear, and the beat we actually ‘hear’ is the difference between the two. If you listen to binaural beats music with external speakers instead of earbuds or headphones, some of the sound intended for the right ear is heard by the left ear and visa versa. The result? Less difference between what is heard by the two ears, which weakens the resulting binaural beat, which leads to less brain entrainment. In short, not using headphones or earbuds reduces the meditation-deepening effect of M3.

The main ‘active ingredient’ in M3 is Binaural Beats (also known as Binaural Music). This is combined with the proprietary OmniTrack Frequency Matching technology on some of our tracks to further enhance the user’s experience.

Binaural music (or binaural beats) is music designed to “sync” the listener’s brain with a certain frequency, resulting in improved cognition in various tasks, such as single focus concentration, special tasks, relaxation, sleep, and meditation. It was first observed over 100 years ago that people’s brains tended to sync with the intended frequency of the binaural music.

The effect of binaural music is determined by the perceived frequency. This frequency results from the difference between the beat played in the right ear and the beat played in the left ear. The frequency created by the interaction between these two ‘base’ frequencies is usually below the hearing threshold of humans, yet we still ‘hear’ that frequency in our heads. For example, if you play a 150 Hz (Hertz) in one ear and 158 Hz in the other, the resulting frequency that you hear will be 8 Hz.

Short answer: everyone!

Long answer: anyone who needs to relax, would like to sleep less, would like to reduce stress, improve cognitive function, sleep better, lose weight, reduce depression, increase altruism, wants better control over themselves and their emotions, or just generally wants to be a more effective, happier person!

Yes! M3 gently guides your mind to the same level meditation masters reach. It does this by using scientifically proven techniques to strengthen weaker brain wave frequencies that are already present in low levels.
